6. First Glimpses
On April 4, 2013, alarms began going off late at night at Sergeant Hughes’s home, which meant that someone had triggered the alarm that was installed in the back of the ice machine in the kitchen of the summer camp. Hughes took off for the summer camp and expected to see an armed criminal or at least a homeless person looking for food.
