Some plants require more sunlight than others, so make sure you know where to put your plants. Lily of the Valley, ferns, begonias, hydrangeas, and impatiens, for example, thrive in the shade; put them in the sun, and they’ll most likely die. On the other hand, daisies, lavender, verbena, and butterfly weed need direct sunlight.
